Comparisons of Web Hosts, Articles, and Coupon Codes
VPS Web hosting is an acronym for virtual private server. VPS Web hosting replaces the need for each individual to have their own physical server. Multiple people can use a VPS Web hosting site at the same time. Furthermore, they will remain unknown to each other and their private information will be secure.
The way VPS Web hosting works is by dividing a single physical server into multiple servers. It works sort of like the internet connection through the phone company or other internet provider in a particular location. The individuals in that area do not have to maintain their own physical server in order to use the internet. Instead, they pay AOL or Netscape or some other communications company for the service.
One of the benefits of VPS Web hosting sites is that it is cheaper to use the site than it would be for each individual to maintain and own a dedicated server. The VPS Web hosting server acts as though it is running on its own like a dedicated server would. They run their own operating system and they can be rebooted independently. The VPS Web hosting site provides a connection between the shared site and the completely dedicated server.
But there are some drawbacks to the VPS web hosting sites. As more resources are used on the server, the processing time will slow down. This can also affect the RAM and disk space available for use. Compared to shared hosting plans VPS solutions are a large step above however.
There are a wider variety of services and price ranges for VPS hosting plans. Prices usually run anywhere from $50.00 to $100.00 per month depending on what the customer is looking for. Most VPS based hosting give you a free domain name. Some of them offer unlimited host domain names and some of them do not.
When you look for VPS Web hosting solutions, you should know what you need for services and how much you want to spend. Shop around and find the VPS web host which is best for you. You can compare web hosting to find the best VPS package for you.

I think VPS might be for me but is it possible to get it cheaper than $50 a month? Seems kind of pricey for my budget

There are a few services cheaper than $50, but $50 and up is the average starting price. Generally you get what you pay for with hosting services. If you are serious about a business and want to start with proper resources I would recommend a VPS or better if you can afford it!
